Seven Day Chakra Cleanse

The chakra system originated in India well over four thousand years ago.  The system was referred to in the ancient writings of the Vedas, the Upanishads, and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. The ancient seers perceived the chakra system as a column of energy centers that extend from the base of the spine to the top of the head. While Chakras are not physical entities in and of themselves, they are held in the subtle body, the energetic body, and are an expression of spiritual energy on the physical plane.  They are often described as the seven energy vortex centers of the body and have a strong effect on our emotional, physical and spiritual well being.  The Chakras provide an “energetic imprint” for our physical expression – everything has this imprint before manifesting into what we have come to know as the physical or form.  And just like the cells of our body and our liver our Chakras can be affected by toxicity and low vibration exposures.  What is low vibration exposure?  Processed foods, synthetic off gassing, chemicals, plastics, negative thinking, negative emotions, even some relationships can have a very low vibration.  I created my Seven Day Chakra Cleanse to stimulate and revitalize the energy and performance of the Chakras.  You can use the short Seven Day Chakra Cleanse in between your RadiantLiving28 Day Mind/Body Cleanse for a quick tune up and to reconnect with your inner radiance. The location of each chakra is not definite or permanent yet generally corresponds to an area of the body’s anatomy.  Each chakra is associated with a specific color and vibrational frequency.  The chakra system provides a beautiful and sacred map for healing and thriving physically,  emotionally, and spiritually.  Below, you will find a description and more detail about the seven chakras and their Sanskrit names.

First Chakra:  Muladhara (red)

Located at the base of the spine, the first chakra, or “root chakra,” relates to our most basic survival needs and our sense of belonging.  It relates to our sense of tribe, family and group alignment, for example nationality or religious affiliation. When this chakra is clear and energy flows through it freely, we feel secure and confident and we can easily fulfill our basic survival needs  On the physical plane the root chakra relates to the metabolism of the body, legs, feet, bones and the large intestine.  When in balance we are part of a large and loving community and experience a sense of safety and protection. We feel stable and supported in our body and life.

Second Chakra:  Svadhisthana (orange)

Located just below the navel and meaning “sweetness”, the second chakra relates to creativity and fertility, not only in the reproductive sense but in all areas of our life.  It governs our sexuality, joy, personal relationships, work, and abundance.  The second chakra is the energy that supports the creation and birth of beautiful art, dance, writing and music.  It is the spark that brings joy and creativity to all that we do.  On the physical plane the second chakra relates to the organs of reproduction, the kidneys, and the low back.  When the second chakra is flowing life is sweet,  we are abundant and creative, and our personal relationships are joyful and loving.

Third Chakra:  Manipura (yellow)

The third chakra, meaning “lustrous gem”, relates to our will, self-esteem and sense of personal power, it is located at the solar plexus.  At an energetic level it is the fire that shows up as our manifested reality.  It is the chakra of choice and ego-identity.  On the physical plane the third chakra is related to blood pressure, the digestive system, metabolism, pancreas, liver and gall bladder.  When this “lustrous gem” is balanced we are in balance in our ego; stable, creative and joyful.  Loving ourselves is an expression of a healthy third chakra.

Fourth Chakra:  Anahata (green)

The fourth chakra, meaning “unstruck’’,  is sometimes referred to as the “heart chakra” because it resonates in the heart and relates to compassion and love.  When the fourth chakra is flowing and open, we feel deeply connected to all beings.  The fourth chakra is the center point of the energy system; it is where the physical meets the spiritual, where the manifest connects to our “unstruck” higher selves.  On the subtle plane it is where Spirit, love, peace and compassion flows in and through our life.  On the physical plane this chakra relates to the heart, circulatory system, lungs, arms, and hands.  The beauty of this chakra is that no matter what our circumstances may be there remains this sacred “unstruck” place for each and every being.

Fifth Chakra:  Vishuddha (blue)

The fifth chakra, meaning “purification” is localized in the throat area and relates to communication and self-expression.  When we are pure in our communication we are impeccable with our word, speak the truth, and communicate clearly.  It’s location draws the energy of love and compassion from the fourth chakra and insight from the sixth chakra.  The subtle energy of the fifth chakra relates to self-expression, writing, singing, speaking and various forms of media. On the physical plane this chakra relates to the thyroid, throat, ears, mouth, shoulders and neck.

Sixth chakra:  Ajna (indigo)

The sixth chakra, also known as the “brow chakra” or the “third eye” is located between the eyes. It is the center of insight, imagination, and intuition.  When it’s open and clear, we feel deeply connected to our inner wisdom and clarity, we are guided by our highest self.  This is the chakra of clairvoyance, seeing, and “knowing”.  Through meditation, prayer and self reflection we move from our own ego’s thoughts into the knowing of the Universal Mind.

Seventh chakra:  Sahasrara (violet)

The seventh chakra, the “crown chakra” connects us to higher consciousness, Spirit, Universal Mind and pure awareness. This chakra is known as the “Thousand Petaled Lotus,” which bursts open when we remember our true nature and experience enlightenment.  To be “open” at the top allows a flow of energy from the Divine.

The chakra system, with it’s spinning vortexes, relies on both the energy from our physical world,  our matter and form, and the energy from the Universal Divine to balance the system.  The chakra system as a collective is called the sushumma, the column of energy that houses the chakras.  The sushumma brings a downward flow of energy from the Universal Divine, bringing the un-manifest into matter.  Energy from matter and form flows upward seeking freedom and liberation.  When this energy is flowing our lives become an expression of balance.  “As Above so Below” there is no separation.  Imbalances in the lower chakra can be expressed as physical ailments, financial troubles, relationship issues, difficulties with work, indecision, fear, anxiety, and more. Imbalances can occur within the upper chakras as well, upper chakra imbalances can show up as denying the physical body pleasure and health, a disconnect with the physical world, excessive daydreaming, nightmares, separation from community, headaches, neck pain, and ear nose and throat disorders.

Embracing the belief that we are spiritual beings manifested into form and matter celebrates our triune nature; we are an amalgam of the mind, body and spirit.  To deny this creates imbalance and disorder.  We are an expression of Spirit on the physical plane; we are spirit and we have a body and we have thought.  Experiencing this with equanimity is the gift you give yourself.  My Seven Day Chakra Cleanse is a way to rejuvenate the Chakras while nurturing our body and mind connection.
