The moon (“Luna” in Latin) is the only natural satellite of the earth. It orbits around the earth establishing the lunar month and during this period it passes through all its phases. Transformations of the lunar body which we see in the sky are the result of the angle that the moon creates with the sun as seen from earth. Moving around the earth the moon changes, therefore, the visible fraction of its face and its changes are known as moon phases, repeated in the same way every month.
Each phase has a specific energetic qualities that can be used in magic for different rituals and purposes. Also, the moon is deeply connected with the women’s cycle and her creative power. Celebrating the moon means to celebrate our feminine nature and unify ourselves with the energy of the Divine.
